Bonaire is an ideal destination for underwater explorers, with some of the best diving conditions in the world and popular dive sites for all skill levels. Surrounded by protected coral reefs and crystal-clear waters, the island is recognized as one of the world’s top sustainable tourism destinations with efforts taken to preserve natural landscapes both on land and under the sea. The Dutch island provides incredible underwater visibility of up to 100 feet with over 80 dive sites strewn along the coast including shipwrecks, coral reefs and underwater pillars. There’s plenty to do on land as well, whether you want to admire the unique pink Salt Flats, climb to the island’s highest peak in Washington Slagbaai National Park or explore one of 400 mystical caves. Bonaire is also a popular spot for water sports where you can kitesurf, fish, windsurf or cruise on a catamaran along the picturesque shoreline. A stop in the colourful capital city of Kralendijk is a must where you can admire the quaint architecture, shop for souvenirs and embrace the local Caribbean culture.
